One of the key challenges for Bellevue Jr/Sr High is state assessment scores. When reflecting on data from previous years, over all scores have room for improvement. Mathematics is an area that needs attention K-12. During the 2015-2016 school year, curriculum alignment will be a focus. Our goal is to have common activities, vocabulary, and measurable common assessments across the curriculum.

Data, in each of these core areas is analyzed and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure student growth is taking place.
Specialized Schooling
Bellevue Jr/Sr High School provides recommendations for alternative Education programs for those students having difficulty functioning successfully in a traditional school setting. Doris Klausen and the Calhoun Intermediate School District work closely with the Jr/Sr High so that all students are placed in the most appropriate environment. Students have the opportunity to attend the Calhoun Area Career Center and/or the Battle Creek Area Math and Science Center beginning in grade 9. Dual enrollment through Kellogg Community College is available to juniors and seniors.

We are using the NWEA assessment in order to obtain essential information about what each student knows and is ready to learn in addition to individual student growth. We also have a K-12 curriculum review team which is devoting time to make sure all of our subject areas are meeting the Michigan Core Standards. Enrollment has increased for both Fall and Winter counts. We are striving to make positive change for the Bellevue Community School System.
