During this period, I was selected to work as a summer intern at the TATA Steel plant in Jamshedpur in India under the guidance of Dr. Vilas Tathavadkar, Chief Iron & Ferro alloys research group, Research and Development Department, TATA Steel LTD. Aim of this project was to do typical heat and mass balance of Ferrochrome in submerged arc furnace.

PROJECTS

Catalyst size dependency on CNT growth

The project was assigned to me by Dr V.K.Tiwary, professor IIT Roorkee. Aim of this project was to explore various factor affecting growth of Carbon Nanotubes with special attention give to catalyst size dependency.

Modelling to decide temperature variation in gas atomized droplets

The project was assigned by Dr. D.Singh, professor IIT Roorkee. Aim of this project was to the study the plume size of various models and suggest methods to optimize temperature.

Cellulose Nano fibre extraction & its Nano-composite with polyethylene polymer:

The research topic was selected for the intellectual challenge it posed to us. Subsequently it was selected by the institute to be funded under SURA. Our team is formulating a relatively low cost & energy efficient process at lab scale. Further experimentation is being done to test its feasibility at Industrial level.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Event Coordinator of CHAOS ’12 an event organized in IIT Roorkee Techincal festival.

NATIONAL SOCIAL SERVICE(NSS): Active participation in NSS programs which was aimed at helping nearby villages to become self reliable and improve quality of living and agricultural production. Workshop in local schools were organized to raise awareness among children.

HIMALAYAN EXPLORERS CLUB(HEC)

Won GOLD MEDAL in INTER BHAWAN and INTER YEAR Hockey Tournament in 2nd and 3rd year at IITR.

Finished First in gaming competition held in IIT Roorkee Saharanpur Campus.

Finished Second in Chaos during Cognizance 2011, IIT Roorkee.

Member of Institute Swimming Team and IITR Rowing Club in 1st year.
