HEALTH GUIDELINES
1. Always be polite while in the classroom.
NO FOOD. Drinks allowed as long as you are quiet and clean up after yourself; No hats/beanies/caps/hoods on in class. No noisy gum, No make up applications, No playing hair salon. Limited bathroom passes (Administrative decision).
2. Always bring to class a pen/pencil & paper.
3-ring Notebook - Graded as your class project at semester’s end
***The Notebook may become the property of Valencia High School***
KEEP in the Notebook your:
· Lecture Notes
· Group & Individual Assignments
· Keep these papers in Chronological order (dates)
· Notebook is worth 10% of the semester grade
*** TESTS are OPEN NOTES so be organized & be rewarded***
3. When absent check the: Daily CALENDAR
A. Above the white board or,
B. Email Mr. Mahoney at
C. Check unit calendar
4. GRADING SCALE (For All Graded Activities)
A = 90% - 100%
B = 80% - 89%
C = 60% - 79%
D = 50% - 59%
Participation will be 10% of the grade.
5. Tutoring is available as scheduled.
6. Photos taken at school may be used for school activities.
7. Homework policy: Each day a homework assignment is late it will be reduced by one full grade. (I.E.- On time = graded out of 100%, late one day the highest grade possible is a “B”, late two days the highest grade possible is a “C”, and so on. HOMEWORK TURNED IN LATER THAN 4 DAYS WILL NOT BE GRADED!!
8. We will be watching topic appropriate movies including but not limited to: Walk the Line (alcohol) and Super Size Me (nutrition); rated PG-13.
9. FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS = A SUCESSFUL SEMESTER
