VARIANT II

Joanne Aussery is 54 now, of course, she doesn’t work but some years ago when she was young she used to work as an airhostess and liked her job very much. She stopped working at the age of 45 and missed her job a lot. One day a very unusual idea suggested itself to her. She decided to buy an old airplane as the place to live in. At the moment her home is a Boeing 727, she lives on a jet plane.

Joanne is a great favourite with her two grandsons, so a visit to her is very special. Joan’s front door is at the top of the plane’s steps, but you don’t need a ticket or a passport when you visit. There are three bedrooms, a living room, a modern kitchen and a deluxe bathroom with very unusual windows in them. They are round and are called portholes. The bathroom is in the cockpit, with the bath under the windows. Next to this isJoanne’s bedroom that is in the first class section of the plane. Apart from that there is the living room with four emergency exit doors, which she opens on summer evenings. On the wall there is a photo of the plane flying for Continental Airlines from Florida to the Mediterranean. There are also four toilets, all with NO SMOKING signs .

“The plane is twenty seven years old and it is the best home in the world and I will never change it, I will be living here till the end of my life, “says Joanne. “There are a lot of modern conveniences in it: a telephone, air-conditioning, a cooker, a washing machine, even a dishwasher. It is always very warm, even in winter and it is very big .It is more than forty two metres long.I am sure you can imagine my house yourselves, everyone who flies by .plane at leastonce can imagine it with ease”. My grandchildren are ready to visit me every day, but they don’t have such an opportunity they are busy with their lessons But every time they are at my place they love running up and down, looking out of the portholes and pretend being courageous pilots, flying high up in the sky. Their friends envy them when they tell them about this wonder and ask to bring them to this magic place someday But not only my grandchildren like my home so do my friends. They like to hold parties here, but there aren’t any flight attendants to serve them their drinks. .

The plane cost Joanne just $2,000.”Next time, «shesays, «Iwant a Boeing747, because they have an upstairs and downstairs, and I want to go upstairs to bed. ”
