2018 CIT/LIT Application Packet
YMCA Camp Bay View Counselors-in-Training (CIT) and Leaders in Training (LIT) are designed for teens who want toexpand the skills they already naturally possess! CIT’s/LIT’s will gain afuller and richer perspective on what it means to be a team player as well asa leader at camp.
As members of high-performing team at camp, CIT’s/LIT’s have a widerange of opportunities to practice the kinds of things leaders say and do. Onan everyday basis, Camp Bay ViewCIT/LIT participants will learn how to:
1. Take the initiative.
2. Be a role model for younger children.
3. Collaboratively problem-solve and manage conflict.
4. Motivate others.
5. Develop and implement a creative vision.
6. Organize and plan.
7. Be part of a high performing team and understand team roles.
8. Self-assess and evaluate individual and team style.
Age Requirements:
LIT applicants should be entering 9th10th grade in September 2018.
CIT applicants should be entering 10th & 11th grade in September 2018.
(10th Graders are required to complete the LIT program first)
CIT/LIT Program Dates:
Session 1: June 25 – June 29
Session 2: July 2 – July 6 (No Camp July 4)
Session 3: July 9 – July 13
Session 4: July 16 – July 20
Session 5: July 23 – July 27
Session 6: July 30 – Aug 3
Session 7: Aug 6 – Aug 10
Session 8: Aug 13 – Aug 17
CITs & LITsmust attend 4 sessions to complete the program.
YMCA Member: $483 per (4) sessions.
YMCA Program Member: $670 per (4) sessions.
Volunteer:
At the completion of both the CIT & LIT programs a number of theapplicants will be asked to continue on at camp on a volunteer basis. Theapplicants asked back will have shown a good attitude, work ethic, independence, and commitment to camp. Participants asked back to volunteerhave no obligation to accept.
