Purpose
This national certificate is awarded to people who have demonstrated competence in the advanced skills and knowledge required for employment in the Electricity Supply Industry in the Condition Assessment area of electricity supply network lines and structures.
This includes using electrical test instruments, determining condition of electrical lines, carrying out condition assessment of electricity pole and tower structures and hardware and conductors, and acting as a Traffic Controller. The elective section of the qualification recognises additional electricity supply knowledge and skills that are relevant to the candidate’s work role.
This qualification contains unit standards that build on the knowledge and skills recognised by the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Patrols) (Level 3) [Ref:1100].
