Summary of Terms and Conditions of Employment
Duties
Your normal duties are those detailed in the job description for this post. On occasion you may be asked to perform additional duties subject to consultation and agreement. Your work objectives will be agreed and reviewed with the Chair of the WBG on a rolling basis.
Period of employment
This is an initial fixed term contract for two years and is subject to satisfactory completion of probation period of three months. .
Normal hours of work
You will work the equivalent of your agreed hours per week (between 14 and 28) in a flexible pattern to be determined in conjunction with the Chair of the WBG.The Women’s Budget Group operates a flexible and family friendly working policy.
Remuneration
Your pay will be £39,000 per annum pro rata for your agreed hours, payable monthly in arrears on the 26th day of each calendar month by bank transfer. Your grading and salary will be reviewed by the Women’s Budget Group in conjunction with you if the nature of your job changes.
Pension
A Workplace Pension Scheme will be provided in accordance with UK Government requirements.
Holiday entitlement
Your holiday year will run from April 1st .Your holiday entitlement will be 28 days per year plus public holidays calculated on a pro rata basis. You will accumulate 2.3 days pro rata for each full month of employment. If your employment with the Women’s Budget Group finishes and you have taken leave which has not been worked for, any excess holiday pay will be deducted from the final salary.
Absence from work
The WBG will be sympathetic towards requests for compassionate, carer’s or emergency leave. In such cases you should contact the Chair as soon as practically possible.
Absence through sickness
Evidence for any sickness absence lasting fewer than seven days can be demonstrated by self-certification. After the first continuous seven days of absence, including weekends, a “Statement of Fitness for Work” should be produced. Statutory sick pay will be provided. Any additional sick pay is at the discretion of the Chair of the Women’s Budget Group, based on your normal salary.
Payment for articles, lectures etc.
Any speaker’s and contributor’s fees paid for work carried out as part of your duties at the Women’s Budget Group shall be paid to the Women’s Budget Group.
Copyright
The Women’s Budget Group shall have exclusive ownership and rights (including copyright) to any documents, designs, or other original work produced or worked on by you as part of your usual work during the course of your employment for WBG.
Termination of employment
If you decide to leave the Women’s Budget Group you are required to give one month’s notice.
If the Women’s Budget Group wishes to terminate your employment in advance of the end of your contract, for any reason other than gross misconduct, it will give one month’s notice.
Union
Employees are encouraged to join a trade union of their choice.
