CONTENT
The content of the 4 units Ynys Hwyl a Sbri (The Island of fun and games) / Salad Ffrwythau (Fruit Salad) / Anifeiliaid yr Arctig (Arctic Animals) / Ogof Arthur (Arthur’s Cave) are as follows:
1 – Cân / Stori – Song / Story
§ Click on number 1 on the main menu the screen opens with two buttons ‘Cân’ (song), ‘Stori’ (story)
§ Click on the song button to hear the song and to watch an animation of the song.
§ Click on the story button. Use the red arrow on the right hand side of the screen to hear the title of the story. Click again to proceed to the next page.
§ Listen to the whole story or pause on each page to discuss each page.
§ There is also a red arrow on the left hand side of the screen which takes you to the ‘Cân / Stori’ main menu.

Story: Anifeiliaid yr Arctig – Arctic Animals
Adult Directed / Focused§ Use each individual page to introduce vocabulary e.g. names of animals, food items and activities.
§ Encourage children to listen, watch and follow script on screen.
§ Use still pictures to point to and name animals and food items saying
Dyma’r arth wen. Dyma’r pysgod.– Here is the polar bear. Here are the fish.
§ Use gesture for i.e nofio – swimming to avoid translation saying
Nofio, nofio. Mae’r arth wen yn hoffi nofio.
Swimming, swimming. The polar bear is swimming.
§ If appropriate point to the relevant words in the text.
§ Encourage children to join in with the reading.
§ Repeat with all pages of the story.

Activity 2: Mathematical Development

§ Listen to the instruction and click on your choice Dewisa rif – Choose a number.
§ Screen opens with an Eskimo with a fishing rod and two other Eskimos with a fishing basket each.
§ The aim of the activity is to share the fish equally between the baskets by clicking and dragging the fish one by one. As the fish are placed in the basket the relevant number will be heard and displayed.
§ When complete click on the happy face icon. If correct Da iawn will be heard and you progress to the next level. If incorrect the fish will revert to their original places.
§ Encourage the children to count with you.
§ Create opportunities to ask the following questions and instruction.

§ The screen opens with four animal icons at the bottom of the screen and a picture revealing a part of an animal in the centre.
§ The aim of the activity is to guess and choose which animal is in the picture by clicking one of the animal icons.
§ If correct a video clip of the animal will be revealed.
§ If incorrect the animal icon will turn blue.
