Stripping cable cont. / Make sure that no excess insulation from the cable is exposed.
Fastening cable to boxes / Make sure that the cable is securely fastened to each box by tightening the clamps so that the cable can not easily be pulled out.
Stripping the Wires / Follow the gage on the back of your fixtures(duplex, switch) to know how far back to strip each wire. When using the solderless connectors, only strip about ½ an inch. YOU DO NOT WANT EXPOSED WIRE SHOWING!
Hook the wires and connect / You should have a nice round hook, so it forms around the screws. Place the wire in so that it is pointing clockwise, so when you tighten the screw it pulls the wire around with it.
Connecting Wires / When connecting the wires, twist them together first and then twist on the connectors. Make sure to twist them until they are securely on, so they can’t come off easily.
Connecting wires to appropriate location / Make sure that each wire is placed in the appropriate location, the black power wire to the gold screw, and the neutral to the silver, and the ground connected to green screw, or box
