“A Topsy-Turvy Dinner with the Bangies!”
One late evening on May 10th, the Bangies went to eat at Flamair La Mauge, a very expensive French restaurant. They were driving down the busy Fifth Avenue in their red station wagon. There were three children, Jenelle, Peter, and Kenny. The parents, Jimmy and Mara Lynn, were in the front seats. This was going to be an interesting night.
“Does everyone know what they are going to order?” Mara Lynn asked. “If not, start thinking about it.”
“Why can’t we look at a menu?” Jenelle shouted. The family finally got to Flamair La Mauge. They walked in the restaurant and got seated next to the bathroom.
The waitress, Alice, came over to the table to get drink orders. The children were being very loud and obnoxious. The children were screaming, crying, banging their forks on the table, and Jenelle was yelling, “Kenny, stop kicking me!” Mara Lynn was very embarrassed because everyone in the restaurant was staring at them.
Alice came back with the drinks. Kenny, the youngest boy, started asking weird questions. “How old are you?”, “What is your mom’s name?”, “Do you have goldfish?” Kenny asked. The waitress did not want to answer the questions. Kenny got angry and shouted, “FOOD FIGHT!!” The children threw potatoes, tomatoes, spaghetti, and they broke the glass ketchup bottle. They were also throwing cherry pies at Alice.
“Ahhhhhh,” Alice screamed, “those little children!” People were scrambling under the tables because they didn’t want their fancy clothes to get food on them.
Jimmy Bangie, the father, yelled, “That’s enough!” The food fight ended abruptly. “Kenny,” Jimmy stated, “come with me to the little men’s room.” Kenny followed his father. “Dun, Dun, Dun!!” Jimmy told Kenny, “This is your mother’s special day. I do not want you to ruin it for her. If you pull another stunt like this, you will have to go to bed at 6:00P.M. every night for a whole week! Now go tell the waitress you are very sorry for all of the trouble you have caused.”
Kenny rolled his eyes at his father, and he grumpily mumbled, “OK.” They came back out.
Kenny Bangie went over to the pie-covered waitress. Kenny said, “I am very sorry for the trouble I have caused you.” He said this very unwillingly.
The Bangie family went up to pay for the meal. Their eyes popped out with astonishment. Their bill was……………..$543.21!!!!!!
As they walked out the door, Jimmy furiously shouted, “KENNY!” It was not a fun car ride home in the 1987 red station wagon filled with the Bangie family!
