SIMPLIFYING AND COMPLICATING THIS ACTIVITY:

Ways to SIMPLIFY demands / Ways to make more COMPLEX
Cognitively / Using a bigger word rather then a small word making it easierfor people to come up with new words, allow more time to come up with words. (Suggest a word that has several vowels in it to help with creating more words.) / Using a word that is complex and that contains fewletters, have less time to come up with words. (If a word has very few letters, such as “winter” it is harder to find new words.)
Physically / Have all participants sit the whole time / Have all participants stand the whole time
Socially / Have less people per team, assign people in each group to have jobs (auditor, spokesman, writer, etc.) / Have more people per team; let team members come up with jobs for each other (auditor, spokesman, writer, etc.)
