GLASS RECYCLING
Technical Specifications and Requirements
1.Vendor shall accept glass from the City’s North and South Recycling and Disposal Stations. The stations generate approximately 222 tons of glass per year, of which 25% is green, 48% is clear and 27% is brown.
2.The City will deliver separated glass according to color: green, amber and clear in separate compartment or container.
3.The vendor shall either have on-site scales to weigh glass or have the ability to accept weight slips from the City.
4.The vendor shall provide the service in full compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and orders of all governmental agencies and entities, including but not limited to federal, state and local environmental, transportation, labor and industries, health and fire regulations, as applicable.
5.The vendor shall have all necessary governmental approvals for its facilities, equipment and other aspects of business operations.
6.The vendor shall immediately advise the City of any change in the vendor’s regulatory or compliance status, and of any notice of violation, citation, administrative order, court order, judgment or other regulatory or enforcement action initiated against the vendor or subcontractor by any governmental agency or entity. The vendor shall fully cooperate with the City in its investigation of any permitting, approval or compliance matters.
7.The City reserves the right to visit the vendor’s facilities prior to awarding the contract and at any time during the duration of the contract. The City also reserves the right to view all financial records and other records, permits, licenses, insurance policies and other governmental approvals prior to and during the duration of the contract.
8.Vendor will be required to coordinate the recycling of glass with Michael Mociulski, Seattle Engineering Department at TEL: 684-7491 or FAX: 233-2632.
PRICING: Payment to The City of Seattle for glass delivered to Vendors facility by City personnel.
