Rules and Procedures

Before You Come In

  • If there is no teacher in the lab do not enter.
  • Line up outside the door.
  • Wait quietly.
  • Clean hands if needed.
  • No gum, candy, food or drinks.

When You Come In

  • No bumping into students, chairs and tables.
  • No running.
  • Sit at your assigned computer.
  • Wait quietly for instructions.
  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
  • Do not leave your seat without permission.

WhileYou’reWorking

  • Stay in your assigned seat.
  • Work quietly
  • Keep your eyes on your own screen.
  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
  • Raise your hand when you need help.
  • Tell your friend what to do, do not do it for them.
  • Ask the teacher before you print anything.

At The End Of The Class Period

  • Save your work.
  • Close all programs and windows.
  • Put the headphones on top of the tower.
  • Straighten up the keyboard and the mouse pad.
  • GENTLY push in the chair.
  • Throw away all scraps of paper, or other trash.
  • Get in line.

Respect The Equipment

  • Touch only the keyboard, mouse, and headphones.
  • Be gentle.
  • Don’t twist or pull on cords.
  • Keep cords out of your mouth.
  • DO NOT attempt to repair anything.

Respect Your Friends

  • Do not engage in unnecessary conversation, shouting or other disruptive behavior.
  • Regarding the folders and files of other students, DO NOT
  • open
  • move
  • delete
  • Or change their filenames

Show Respect To Your Teacher

  • Follow directions immediately.
  • Speak appropriately. Disrespectful and/or offensive language will not be tolerated in the Lab.
  • DO NOT use inappropriate language or graphics on your computer.

If You Have an Emergency (Restroom)

  • Ask for permission and then go. Take the restroom pass.
  • If you’re going to be sick use the trash can or go to the restroom.

When it’sTime to Go

  • Put the headphones on top of the tower.
  • Straighten up the keyboard and mouse.
  • Push in your chair.
  • Line up single file at the door.

Internet Rules

  • Use only the specified websites and/or search engines for a project.
  • Do not go to websites that are unrelated to your schoolwork.
  • Do NOT use any instant messaging software.
  • Do not chat or visit chat rooms.
  • No games without your teacher’s permission.
  • Do not copy from the Internet or use other people’s ideas as your own.

Consequences

  • Warning #1: Verbal warning, 1st check mark.
  • Warning #2: Loss of computer time, 2nd check mark.
  • Warning #3: One day at the table without computer time and you call mom or dad, 3rd check mark.Warning #4: Visit with Mrs. Schadegg, 4th check mark.
