Minutes:
Purpose of meeting was stated as reviewing new chiller starter submittal for coordination with switchgear manufacturer to provide seamless integration into new switchgear lineup.
§ Cutler-Hammer is in the course of developing engineering information for the project switchgear so a similar style lineup was used as a basis of discussion.
§ The switchgear sections housing the starters would be 36” W X 90” T X30” Dp. This was acceptable to Trane and was compatible to the submitted starters.
§ Cutler-Hammer would investigate having the starters and the switchgear constructed and assembled in their North Carolina plant, versus two different plants. This was not a requirement and would not be an expectation if it were not possible.
§ Trane agreed that the starter sections would have full ampacity bus across the top of the sections they provide to allow for the future expansion of additional chillers and relocation of existing starter equipment. It was agreed that Trane’s drawings depict bus extension, but not clearly, and a note would be added to remove any interpretation.
§ The power factor equipment provided with the starters will be mounted to the right of the starters in all cases, as is Trane’s normal. No ‘handing’ is required for the lineups.
§ Trane would provide a full set of engineering drawings of the starters, including bus dimensional information, for transmittal to Cutler-Hammer so that Cutler-Hammer will coordinate the construction of the switchgear to the starters. These drawings would be provided to John Kuhr by Wednesday, 11/6/02.
§ Accountability of matching the starters to the switchgear was assumed by Cutler-Hammer.
No follow up meetings were planned for this topic.
