The purpose of the Venture Academy Day is:
- To assist invited/selected companies prepare for presentations to prospective investors
- Provide individual, clear and immediate coaching, feedback and advice on work needed to be done for investment readiness
- Provide useful ‘signposting’ advice on what needs to be done next, possibly “connecting” companies with other groups, EBAN individuals or third parties.
Your support during the Venture Academy is required in the following areas:
- Familiarise yourself with invited companies and review materials in advance for all Venture Academy
- Observe each company presentation and provide feedback
- Maximise your industry/sector expertise, commercial/financial acumen and business experience during feedback sessions

- Provide feedback and closure actions to EBAN and entrepreneur/company
Before the Event
- Review in advance any documentation sent to you on all the selected companies for the Venture Academy Day
During the Event
- Record your observations and feedback for all presenting companies. Avoid lengthy Q&A with each company, limiting your comments to feedback
- You will be assigned a company / entrepreneur for individual coaching (maybe more than one)
- Provide your assigned company with expert coaching and assistance with business modelling, planning, presentation development, business planning, etc
- Coaching time will be limited (2-3 hours) between the initial and final presentations throughout a working lunch, therefore avoid major presentation revisions and reformatting, rather facilitate presentation modifications and changes commensurate with team capabilities
- At the final presentations, record your feedback for all presenting companies (feedback sheets provided)
- Following the final presentations, you will participate in a final panel to judge all companies against a set of criteria
After the Event
- Information summary, actions and conclusions should be recorded and provided to the EBAN co-ordinator for consolidation and shared with other members as needed.
- For your assigned company/ entrepreneur, you are responsible to follow up the consolidated feedback to the company, in a quick timeframe, with ‘signposting’ of what the company needs to do (or stop doing), including strong, high level concluding messages and clarity about what needs to be done prior to investment readiness, as a vehicle to ‘close out’ their participation in this serious event.
- As a coach, you may be asked to take on a mentoring role following the Venture
- Academy Day depending on investment potential and consideration for presenting to
- EBAN investors
