Lawyer, member of the Madrid Bar. Javier Calvo studied in the University Complutense of Madrid, in La Sapienza in Rome and Paris III (Sorbonne nuovelle) in France. He has a Masters Degree in European Law and Policies in the Carlos III University of Madrid.
Before coming to Brussels over 2 years ago, Mr. Calvo worked for UNESCO in Paris and the Spanish Commercial Desk in Moscow. In Brussels he did a stage at the Commission (State Aid Directorate), worked for O’Connor and Company, a law firm were he was a Legal counselor mainly on a case before the European Court of Justice related to public companies and for the Parliament. In the Parliament he worked for some months as a political assistant to MEP Ignasi Guardans, member of the Liberal group.
Javier Calvo joined Euro Coop in September 2005.
Cristina de Avila

Cristina de Avila is legal officer in the Chemicals Unit of the European Commission's Environment Directorate-General.
Before joining the Commission, Cristina worked for over five years as policy analyst and lobbyist, both in an NGO in Spain and in two public affair consultancies in Brussels. Her main area of expertise was EU Environment Policy, in particular the sectors on Waste and Product Policy. Prior to her specialisation in EU Law and Community Environment Policy, Cristina worked as a lawyer for two years and a half.
Cristina studied Law in the University Complutense of Madrid, has a post-graduate diploma on International Relations from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague and an LL.M in European Business Law from the University of Amsterdam.
Lena Ek
Swedish Member of the European Parliament
Member of the European Parliament since 2004, Mrs Ek has obtained her Degree in Law and has been a lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the Lund University from 1987 to 1994.
Municipal commissioner (Valdemarsvik) and County Councillor and substitute member of the Östergötland County Council Executive Committee, Mrs Ek has also been the spokesman of the Centre Party’s on Economic Policy from 1998 to 2004.
In the European Parliament, Mrs Ek is the ITRE Rapporteur on REACH.
Herman Götsch

In 1983, Hermann Götsch obtained his Master in Law Sciences at the University of Innsbruck. In 1987, while working as Export Manager in the Metal Industry (Innsbruck), Mr. Götsch obtained his diploma as Academic Export Manager.
Since 1989 onwards, Mr Götsch has been working at the Austrian Ministry for Environment (Vienna) as Legal Adviser – Expert for Environmental Law. His key qualifications are among others: Chemicals, Plant Protection Products, Biocidal Products, Air Quality, Vehicle emissions, Noise, etc.
Per Martinson
Chairman of European Tissue Symposium (ETS) Chemicals Task Force

Dr Per Martinson was born and educated in Gothenburg, Sweden. Following studies and research at the University of Gothenburg, Dr. Martinson achieved his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in the early 1970-ies, and since then holds the title of Associate Professor at the department of Organic Chemistry in this University.
Per Martinson spent a post-doc year in Harvey Mudd College in California, after which he was back in the University of Gothenburg to set up a medicinal chemistry laboratory at the department of Pharmacology. He then took on varying industry positions in Sweden in the fields of Polymer Research and Development, Material development, Industrial Hygiene, Product Safety and Environment.
Dr. Martinson has been employed by SCA Hygiene Products (formerly Mölnlycke Health Care) since 1980, in different positions, and is since some ten years responsible for Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety in SCA Hygiene, with a coordinating role within all SCA, regarding the REACH proposal for a new chemicals legislation.
Mari Pantsar-Kallio

Dr. Mari Pantsar-Kallio (1969) is chairing the CEPI Chemicals Task Force.
She has a position as an Environmental Expert at UPM-Kymmene, and is located in Finland. Her responsibility area in the Company includes, among others, coordination of Chemicals issues, Global Process Waste Management and Environmental matters related to soil. She has done her PH. D. Thesis in analytical chemistry in University of Helsinki in 1997 and her main area of competence is speciation and mobility of dangerous metals in the environment. Mari Pantsar-Kallio holds a lectureship for Environmental Chemistry at the University of Helsinki and is a member of several research groups related to Environmental and Human Health Risk Assessment, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Chemistry. She also is a member of the Stakeholder Expert Group of REACH Implementation Project (RIP) 3.5.1 and of the Industry Expert Group of RIP 3.10.
Liisa Rapeli-Likitalo

Mrs Rapeli-Likitalo obtained her Master of Science in Engineering, Helsinki University of Technology in 1985. She has over 10 years experience in training and human resources development in industry andhas been responsible for Product Safety of Paper Chemicals for the last 12 years in Raisio Chemicals Oy. Liisa Rapeli-Likitalo is currently working as PS&R manager in Ciba Specialty Chemicals Oy.
Armi Temmes

Dr. Armi Temmes (born 1956) is Senior Vice President, Corporate Public Affairs in M-real Corporation. She is responsible for Corporate and lobbying coordination in M-real, a Finnish based European paper company. She worked at the University of Helsinki 1980-1988 as assistant teacher and joined Metsä-Serla Corporate R&D in 1989 to start activities in Biotechnical and Microbiological Research and Development. In 1992 she was appointed Environmental Manager of Metsä-Serla, and in 2001 Vice President, Environmental Affairs in M-real. Dr. Temmes is a member of the Advisory Board of the Finnish Environment Institute. She chairs the Environment Committee of CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) and Industrial Policy Board of FFIF (Finnish Forest Industry Federation).
