It is important that families and schools work together to help students achieve high academic standards. Through a process that includes teachers, families, students and community representatives, the following are agreed upon roles and responsibilities that we as partners will carry out to support student success in school and life.

●Respect all DHS equipment and property
●Follow the instructions given by the faculty and staff at all times
●Complete and return all homework and day assignments
●Be Responsible, honest, and productive for my learning and in all social settings
●Believe that I can learn and will learn.
●Read daily at school or home.
●Know and follow the school and class rules.
●Regularly talk to my parents and my teachers about my progress in school.
●Ask for help when I need it.
●Respect my school, classmates, staff, and family.
●I understand that my cell phone should be off and in my backpack or purse during classroom hours.

●Provide a safe and caring learning environment that encourages students to be responsible, honest, and productive for their learning and all social settings
●Provide a curriculum to meet the educational needs of our students and expectations of the district
●Celebrate my student’s strength and provide guidance to improve their weaknesses.
●Maintain and encourage regular two-way communication with parents and students.
●Teach and involve students in classes that are interesting and challenging.
●Participate in professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning and support the formation of partnerships with families and the community.
●Provide assistance to families on what they can do to support their child's learning.
●Participate in shared decision making with other school staff and families for the benefit of students.
●Maintain grades and post weekly grade updates.
●Respect the school, staff, students, and families.

●Talk to my child regularly about the value of education.
●Be financially responsible for all DHS issued school property (such as calculators, Chromebooks, etc.)
●Be sure that my child is present and on time daily and prepared for class.
●Meet and or make contact with my child’s teachers during the first nine weeks of school
●Communicate regularly with teachers when I have a concern and refrain from posting opinions on social media before fully investigating my concerns.
●Ensure that my child has a full night’s sleep without the distraction of cellphones, TV, or computer access. (Turn it off at a reasonable hour)
●Monitor my child social media which includes texting, Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media.
●Look through my child’s backpack and make sure they are completing all required assignments.
●Monitor my child’s grades by accessing the skyward grade check program, signing all progress reports and report cards.
●Encourage reading on regular bases (at least 30 minutes a day).
●Support the school's discipline code and attendance policy.
●Make every effort to attend school events, such as parent-teacher conferences and Open House.
●Ensure that my child gets regular medical attention and proper nutrition.
●Participate in shared decision making with school staff and other families for the benefit of students.
●Respect the school, staff, students, and families.
