Undergraduate Research Grant Application

Dear Applicant,

In order to further encourage and nurture the work being completed within the Gordon student body, a grant has been created that may be awarded to students for the purposes of presenting their research to the academic community outside of Gordon.

In completing this application, we hope that you will represent Gordon in a Christ-like manner at the event you are seeking to attend and gain further knowledge from experts in your field of study. Thank you for taking the time and effort to expand your knowledge by conducting research of your own.

Please make sure all the requirements and sections of the application are completed before submitting. Below is a checklist of the requirements needed upon turning in your application. Upon completion and submission of this application, a member of the URGC Committee will be contacting you in order to set up an interview.

REQUIRED IN ORDER TO APPLY:

Completed Application with all the necessary information and signatures (Department Chair, Advisor, and Student)

Completed Estimated Expense Worksheet

GPA of at least 3.00 overall

Approval from Department chair and your advisor

1 required recommendation letter from a faculty or staff member related to your research. This recommendation must also be willing to become your advisor or mentor for the research for during your preparations for the event

Material must be presented at a Gordon Community Sponsored event (required): Symposium, Chapel, Lecture, etc.

Must have sought resources prior to coming to GCSA for the funds needed for the event you are seeking to attend

Special consideration will be taken in extenuating circumstances (e.x. reimbursement, 2.95 GPA)

GCSA does reserve the right not to reward you the full amount of your needed expenses
