Project 2

IP routing

Instructions

  1. This assignment weights 5-10 out of 100 marks.
  2. You are required to implement a topology with packet tracer while Full screen video recording is ON (you can use programs like Camtasia).
  3. You must fully perform any needed operations like VLSM or any comments that you want to say to me only on MS word any without stopping the recording .
  4. You are free to open any lab material while running the screen capture.
  5. You are required to write your name and number with a note inside the packet tracer on the corners and it should be visible all the time! (see sample video).
  6. Name all router by your name : e.g. nour1, nour2, ..etc.
  7. When you finish, save your work andsubmit the .pkt files and this word file on a CD.
  8. Use a clear screen capture (if it's not crystal clear I won't bother myself looking at it : zero).
  9. Deadline 12\5 and NO excuses will be accepted.
  10. Copiers will get a truly BIG zero.

The problem (Start video here !)

You are given the following topology, with a network ID of 199.168.10.0/24 and you are required to simulate it on PacketTracer.

Follow the steps :

  1. Perform VLSM on the previous topology and fill the table :

  1. After you finish subnetting, open packet tracer .
  2. Go to Options- Preferences – font and put CLI font to 12.
  3. Start connecting the hardware. And write a note on every node indicating the network name .
  4. Up to this point, I expect that you have configured the directly-connected interfaces, gave the PCs some valid IP address and subnet mask and configured DCE, DTE interfaces.
  5. On the privileged mode, run the command "show ip interface brief " and the command "show ip route" on all routers and check your work.
  6. (optional) Use the "inspect" tool to check your routing table for all routers.
  7. Don't forget the write your configuration "copy run start" or "write".
  8. now, save your work, exit the program, and copy the file four times and name the copies as follows:
  9. staticdefault.pkt
  10. ripv2.pkt
  11. eigrp.pkt
  12. ospf.pkt
  13. then open them one by one and implement the protocol on the file name.
  14. for every file, when you finish: use inspect tool to show all routers' routing tables, save your work and go to another file.
  15. When you finish, put all four files and this word file in a folder, and put them on CD , and submit it.
