  • Fever/Temperature:Pleasekeepyourchildhomeiftheyhaveatemperatureof100degreesorhigher.Theymayreturntoschoolafterbeingfever-free forat least24hourswithouttheuseofmedication.
  • Vomitingand/orDiarrhea:Pleasekeepyourchildhomeuntilsymptomfreeforatleast24hours.The childmustbeabletoconsumehis/herregulardietwithoutanyproblem.
  • Pinkeye:Yourchildmayreturnto schoolaftera full24hoursofantibiotictreatment.
  • Strepthroat:Yourchildmayreturntoschoolafterafull24hoursofantibiotictreatmentand fever-free.
  • Medications:Donotsendyourchildtoschoolwithmedicationofany type.Allmedicationsmustbecheckedinthroughthehealthoffice.Prescriptionmedicationsmusthaveapharmacylabelandthemedicinecannotbepasttheexpirationdate.Over-the-countermedicationsmustbeintheoriginalcontainer.AconsentformmustbecompletedforALLmedicationsnotlistedonthe HUSDemergencycard.
  • Flip-flops:Pleaseinspectyourchild'sflip-flopsonaregularbasisforwearandtear.Wecannotrepairthem.Childrenmustcalltheirparent/guardianfromtheclassroomandhopethattheyareavailabletobringanotherpairofshoestoschool.
  • HUSDLicePolicy:Wehaveanit-freepolicy.Ifyourchildcontractslicepleasedonotsendthemtoschooluntiltheyhavebeentreatedandallliceandnitsareremovedfromthe hair.Pleasereportthisconditiontothehealthoffice.Yourchildwillbeexaminedfor liceand/ornitsprivatelyinthe healthofficepriortoreturningtoclass.
  • Immunizations:AllstudentsmustbeuptodateontheirimmunizationstoattendschoolperstatelawsA.R.S.15-871-874.Ifyouhavequestionsregardingrequirementsforyourchild'sageandgradelevel,pleasecontactyourschool's health office. You can access information regarding FREE immunization clinics at AZ Department ofHealthServicesWebsiteorcallthehealthofficeandwewillsendaschedulehomewithyourchild.Pleasemakesuretotakeyourchild'simmunizationsrecordswithyoutotheclinicandthenbringprooftothehealthofficesowecanupdatetheschoolrecord.
  • WaterBottleDonations:Weappreciateanywaterbottledonationstoourschoolhealthoffices. Wealsoappreciatenewpackagesofboysand/orgirls’underwearandusedpantsfortheinevitableaccidentsthatoccuratschool.
  • Passes:Ourgoalandhighestpriorityistotakecareofyourchild'shealthneedsandhelpensuretheirsafety.Withthisinmind,schoolpolicyisthatallstudentsmustcometothehealthofficewithapassfromtheirinstructor.Ifastudentissentwithoutapasstheywillbesentbacktoclasstogetone. Theonlyexceptionisintheeventofanemergencysituation.This policyallowsstafftoknowwhereyourchildisatalltimesandprovidesforyourchild'ssafety.
