We are growing our eCommerce business and areseeking anOnline (E-Commerce) Marketing Managerto overseean eCommerce team. This newly created position will contribute to all online marketing efforts, and provide leadership in ecommerce strategic support, new eBusiness development, online marketing program management and overall ecommerce project management in order to contribute to maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the ecommerce marketing team. This hands-on management role is perfect for someone who loves to be at the center of it all. This is an excellent opportunity.The Manager, Online Marketing will have a balance of management skills, business skills and tech savvy. S/he will be responsible for managing a staff and multiple ecommerce and web projects from concept to completion. This role supports key business partnerships within the organization by providing quality project, program, and internal business user (client) management.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
eCommerce Planning and Project Management Responsibilities
- Supports Director, eCommerce Marketing in developing customer acquisition to meet company budget goals and retention programs; provides ongoing strategic and tactical support as needed to all ecommerce initiatives.
- Recommends strategic direction to meet market requirements for new online marketing initiatives.
- Provides critical program development to other departments (catalog marketing, merchandising, inventory, IT) in relation to online components of their programs, including content development.
- Owns the scheduling, coordination, and execution of all online publishing events for the website and related online marketing and merchandising campaigns.
- Coordinates development of strategic online marketing plans and marketing campaigns, and aligns with schedules, projects, budgets, and resources to meet expected results.
- Executes full lifecycle project management on ecommerce projects, including but not limited to, analysis and documentation of business requirements, functional and technical specs, scoping, scheduling, functional team handoffs and strategizing activities.
- Creates appropriate internal documentation and IA wireframes to support projects and effectively communicates project/task goals, issues, timelines, meeting notes, etc. to project team and business units.
- Drives best practices for online marketing and continuous learning across the organization by keeping abreast of online trends.
- Provides credible, accurate forecasting of online marketing initiatives to senior management.
- Manages the online marketing budget to quarterly and yearly goals.
- Acts as a strategic partner by conceiving new, creative methods for attracting customers to our products, such as social media programs, blogger outreach, content aggregation, media partnerships, campaign strategy, etc.
- Researches best practices in order to develop new business opportunities and tools as needed to improve online customer acquisition and retention efforts.
- Directly manages a small online marketing staff responsible for administering various marketing programs and analytics.
- Creates traffic-generating marketing initiatives by developing online marketing efforts such as affiliate marketing, paid search, internet display advertising, email marketing, and contributing to SEO and social media campaigns.
- Manages day-to-day activities for Affiliate Network, SEM / PPC, and certain other programs.
- Contributes to online content by recommending, testing, and implementing improved web usability, page flow, navigation, and content to support overall objective of increasing visitors’ conversion rate.
- Leads and participates in the development of meaningful / attainable marketing metrics ensuring increases in engagement and efficiency while conserving budget and resources.
- Manages reporting and analyses of marketing campaigns and programs; oversees web site analytics, monitors key web site metrics.
- Structures and oversees A/B and multivariate tests to optimize offers, content, and features on-site and in marketing campaign materials such as emails and display ads, to maximize conversion to qualified leads.
- Establishes dashboards, presentations, and reporting formats for senior management that clearly communicate success metrics and results across all online marketing programs; directly presents results to senior management.
- Manages and provides leadership and developmental opportunities for direct reports including hiring, training, work assignments, and performance evaluations.
- Fosters team environment where associates feel they are valued and important members of the organization.
- Provides guidance on goals and objectives through clear, effective, timely, and constructive feedback to staff.
- Strong understanding of the job functions and possesses the knowledge and skills required to perform the required job functions.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline strongly preferred. MBA in Marketing, Strategy, or Statistics a plus.
- 5+ years in an online / ecommerce environment; 3+ years in a project management role.
- Experience managing traffic-generating programs such as affiliate, search marketing , online advertising, and other marketing programs.
- Experience managing a large online B2C website strongly preferred.
- 3+ years supervisory/management experience.
- Experience in digital marketing with the ability to provide both strategic and tactical direction as well as providing direct, hands-on execution.
- Experience managing website content development and activities associated with website launches/redesigns including menu architecture development and web page layouts and graphic designs.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering quarter over quarter success metrics gains through online acquisition and retention efforts.
