Over the years the BALTDEFCOL has developed as a centre of excellence for senior-level military education in the Baltic States and contributes substantially to the continuing transformation of the defence institutions of NATO, the EU and their member states by educating a cadre of officers and civil servants able to understand and operate in today’s complex security environment.
We are looking for one or more suitably qualified persons to Develop, plan, co-ordinate and deliver courses and modules taught at the Baltic Defence College in the area of Strategic Studies.
You will educate and support the professional development of officers and civil servants through high quality courses.

I MAIN DUTIES
- Develops and teaches modules, electives and/or classes to students of all courses in the area of Strategic Studies;
- Acts as a source of expertise in the area of Strategic Studies to members of the directing staff and students in execution of their tasks and assignments;
- Participates in the supervision and assessment of written academic assignments given to students;
- Undertakes and publishes research relating to Strategic Studies.
II OTHER DUTIES
1.Contributes to the academic events of the BALTDEFCOL (round tables, seminars, conferences, etc.) within area of expertise.
2.Represents BALTDEFCOL at external activities (conferences, seminars, courses, etc.) related to the field of expertise.
3.Networks with relevant educational and research institutions.
4.Participates in editing Baltic Defence College’s academic publications.
III QUALIFICATIONS
1. Essential qualifications:
-Advanced academic degree in Strategic Studies, international relations or related field;
- Exceptional knowledge of strategic affairs, both European and global;
-Experience in delivering teaching in academic environment;
-Experience in conducting research in the fields of relevance to the position;
-Languages: English (Proficient User: C1+).
2. Desirable qualifications:
-A PhD in Strategic Studies, international relations or a related field;
-Ability to work and co-operate in a multinational military environment;
-Eloquence in communicating his/her thoughts and ideas to a critical audience;
-Flexibility, creativity, dynamism and a result-oriented approach to duties;
-Ability both to act as a part of a team and pursue individual initiatives and tasks.
