INDIVIDUAL BREED CLASSES (IBC)

B37. HANOVERIAN – Open to any American Hanoverian Society-registered horse of any age and sex whose owner is a current AHS member. Eligibility with AHS will be verified the week prior to the competition. AHS will award a special neck sash and etched glass trophy to the winner of this class. Horses to be judged in-hand at the walk and trot on the triangle. Scored 60% movement, 30% conformation 10% general impression. FMI, contact AHS at 859-255-4141.

B38. OLDENBURG HORSE BREEDERS SOCIETY - Sponsored by Melmont Sport Horses/C. S. Carnes. Horses entered in this class must be recorded with the Verband der Zuchter des Oldenburger pferdes e.V./Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society and the owner(s) must be members in good standing. OTHER CLASSES

B35. AMATEUR/JR/YR HANDLER - To be shown in-hand by an Amateur or Junior/Young Rider. Amateurs must have current USEF Amateur card. Open to fillies/mares and geldings in any age group. No stallions or colts except weanlings. To be judged on presentation of the animal to the judge, neatness and appearance of the handler, overall condition of the animal, handling techniques, appropriate tack and equipment, demonstration of correct training and ability to show horse to best of its ability.

B36. BREEDER’S EXPOSITION - during lunch break in main arena. Horses to be displayed in-hand or under saddle to potential buyers & breeders. Must include typed 1 minute biography on horse with entry or will not be allowed to enter class.

AWARDS

·  Trophy and six ribbons except in championship classes which will award only Champion & Reserve Champion ribbons.

·  Rosinburg Farm Perpetual Trophy: to the Grand Champion of the Breeding Show.

·  Bari Von Buedingen Memorial Award: to the highest scoring Hanoverian colt or gelding in the Breeding Show, excluding IBC classes.

·  USDFBC: The Champion & Reserve Champion in classes B13, B14, B16 and B17 will receive special ribbons and will qualify for the USDF Breeders Championship East Coast Series Final at Dressage at Devon.

·  American Hanoverian Society: Special neck sash and etched glass trophy to the highest placing eligible Hanoverian in individual in-hand classes (IBC excluded). In order to be eligible, the horse must be AHS registered and the owner must be a current AHS member. Eligibility with AHS will be verified the week prior to the competition. AHS will also award a special neck sash and etched glass trophy to the winner of the Hanoverian IBC.

·  Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society High Score Award: Sponsored by Melmont Sport Horses/C. S. Carnes. Awarded to the Oldenburg Verband horse with the highest individual score for all classes at the breed show. Horses must be recorded with the Verband der Zuchter des Oldenburger pferdes e.V./Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society and the owner(s) must be members in good standing. ·  Rheinland Plfaz-Saar: Special award and sash for highest scoring RPSI registered/branded horse in individual in-hand classes. Must submit copy of breed registry papers for horses born before 2006 to be eligible.

·  Swedish Warmblood Association of North America: Special ribbon for highest scoring SWANA registered/branded horse in individual in-hand classes. Must submit copy of breed registry papers for horses born before 2006 to be eligible.

·  "Born in the USA" Award: Sponsored by Marydell Farm. To be awarded to the highest scoring (not highest placing) horse foaled in the U.S. Eligibility is to be determined by the breeder’s address on the horse’s registration papers. The winner will receive a special award.

·  High Score North Carolina Horse: Sponsored by Marydell Farm. To be awarded to the highest scoring (not highest placing) horse born in North Carolina. Eligibility is to be determined by the breeder’s address on the horse’s registration papers. The winner will receive a special award.

·  Other special awards to be announced in Show Program.

#No entry fee for Championship classes. All horses entered in breeder's group class must list what group they are to be shown with (only one entry/group pays the fee). Any changes made the day of the show will result in a one-time $25 charge per entry. Rider/owner must register non-competing (N/C) horse with the show secretary, submit a current Coggins, fill out USEF entry form. No N/C fee due for N/C mare with foal. Make check payable to NCDCTA and mail with entry, negative Coggins (for horses six months and older and dated no earlier than one year from the first day of the show) and copy of USEF and USDF cards to Secretary. North Carolina requires a negative Coggins to be posted for all horses on the stall door. Post entries will be placed on a waiting list to fill scratches. Bounced check policy: Void entry and incur a $25 charge. Entries placed on waiting list until a money order, certified check or cash is received. Must send copies of USEF membership cards for rider, handler, owner, trainer, and coach; and copies of USDF membership cards for rider and owner or copy of nonmember ID card. All horses must be USEF Recorded, USDF Lifetime Registered or have Horse Identification Numbers for USDF (except IBC). Owners of horses without USDF registration or HID # MUST complete application, submit breed registry papers (if horse is registered) and pay $20 USDF HID fee upon arrival at the competition in order to participate. ALL information, including entry form, schedule, stabling and results will be posted on website for this competition: www.cdi-raleigh.com.

Stabling: 500 permanent wood stalls with doors. Half in center-aisled barns, half in shed-row. All horses entered only in the breed show will be stabled in barn D. No Exceptions. Stabling for Breed Show only - Sunday 9am thru Monday 6pm - $50. If entering LOL and Breed Show pay LOL stabling fee plus $40. Fee includes 2 bags initial bedding. Tack stalls at same rate. Non-competing horses must be stabled on grounds and must pay the $50 (or $40) stabling fee.

Refunds: No refunds after the closing date or after the start of competition for any reason including in the event of cancellation of classes due to severe weather or other emergency. Refunds will be made before closing date less a $25.00 fee.

Camper Hookups: Available on-site at $20/night, including water, power and sewage. Fee is collected by Fairgrounds security personnel at show. Do not send fee or reservation to Secretary.

Accommodations: Host hotel: Ramada Inn Blue Ridge (919/832-4100). $74.00 (1-2 people) includes a complimentary continental breakfast. Located on Blue Ridge Rd. 1/2 mile from the Hunt Horse Complex. You must mention that you are with horse show to get this rate.

Directions: From 1-440 (Beltline) in Raleigh, take the Hillsborough St. (NC54) exit toward Cary/Chapel Hill. Turn right at stoplight onto Blue Ridge Rd. Take first left onto Trinity Rd. Horse Complex is on the left. Enter Gate H-3 across from Carter-Finley Stadium. From I-40 west, take Wade Ave./Carter-Finley Stadium exit. Exit right on ramp to Edwards Mill Rd. and turn right, then left at light onto Trinity Rd. Horse Complex is on the right.

Hospitality: Food available on grounds from 7 am during show.

Arenas: One indoor arena (approx. 125’ x 250’) and one covered arena (aprox. 100’ x 230’) with spectator seating, both with composite footing. Two sand warm-up rings.

Other:

·  Management reserves the right to add, combine or divide classes, add or substitute judges, or make any changes required by circumstances.

·  All dogs must be leashed and dogs are prohibited inside the coliseum.

·  Paramedic will be on grounds.

·  All emergency numbers will be posted in the Secretary’s office and near the pay phones.

·  Riders may substitute horses once they have entered only upon presentation of a Vet Certificate for the incapacitated horse, or a bill-of-sale, and only in classes in which the first horse was entered. The Secretary must be notified 24 hours before the class(es) take(s) place, and a new entry form must be completed.

·  Anyone bringing non-competing horses must supply, prior to Closing Date, a current Coggins and a signed entry form before entering the show grounds. A $25.00 fee will be charged for every non-competing horse entering the showground.

·  Numbers must be worn at all times when a horse is being exercised or ridden.

·  Bridles MANDATORY on horses age two and over (USEF DR206.2)

·  Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of recognized competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

·  Pony classes, tests or awards are NOT offered at this competition. Therefore, the Competition Veterinarian will NOT be available to conduct measurements.

EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULE BOOK AND WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.

USEF Membership Statement (GR1401.9)

Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides provided the respective breed/discipline dues or breed/discipline category fee has been paid. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $20 non-member registration fee and a $5 breed/discipline category fee for each breed/discipline. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule; 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. Also exempted from this requirement are citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation; 8) USEA beginner novice division; and 9) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.
