Software Services Working Group
Terms of Reference
Overview
Intent
The primary purpose of the Software Services Working Group is to facilitate engagement between the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the software industry to support the implementation of the Software Services program of work.
Membership
Membership is by way of self-nominationhowever the ATO, as Chair of the Working Group reserves the right to revise membership if required.
Members are expected to have a high level of personal and professional integrity, work together and bring a broad perspective to issues, rather than solely that of a particular entity.
The group may invite observers to attend meetings.
Members will be required to meet their own costs of attending meetings and contributing to the work of the Working Group. They will not be paid consultancy or sitting fees.
The working group will exist for the duration of the program – which expected to be an ongoing body of work.
General Operation of the group
Responsibilities of the Chair
The Chair will be responsible for finalising the agenda (in collaboration with the Secretariat) and identifying any agenda items involving substantive matters for decision or potential changes that are to be referred to a relevant sub-group for assessment and evaluation.
Absent members
Members will be able to nominate one delegate to attend meetings of the Working Group in their absence.
Frequency and timing of meetings
The Software Services Working Group will meet only as required. For the ease and convenience of members, the use of teleconference / telepresence or webinar facilities will be utilised were practical.
Secretariat
The Software Services Working Group will be supported by a Secretariat located within the ATO. The Secretariat will be responsible for the preparation and circulation of relevant papers including agendas and minutes.
The ATO will publish a summary of meeting outcomes on the Software Developers Homepage website.
