Are you interested in a one-term placement in the Department’s corporate environment?
The Pathways at DET program is designed to enhance strategic leadership skills and provide senior educational leaders with broader policy and program experience.
The program will place principals, assistant principals and leading teachers in corporate roles for one term, giving them the opportunity to work on a specific project, or a component of a project, and take part in a range of development opportunities.
The program aims to strengthen career pathways for senior school staff and open up other public policy and administrative opportunities, through providing experience in roles staff could consider as part of their career plans. It will also strengthen professional practice across the Department, by creating stronger relationships between school and corporate areas, sharing knowledge, skills and experience, and enabling a greater understanding of how each environment operates.
Participants will benefit by developing:
- strong relationships with colleagues in the corporate office who have a direct relationship to school operations
- an improved understanding of decision-making processes sitting behind policy implementation
- an appreciation of the complexities associated with the implementation and rollout of Government-driven priorities to schools.
Program Structure and Professional Development
There is an intake of 10 people in term 2, 2019.
Learning will be supported through:
