Success at college comes from being informed and prepared. The following information is designed to make life at Delta College easier and you more successful.
ARRIVE EARLY
Parking can be very crowded. Arrive early enough to find a parking space and allow time to get to class before it starts. Although many lots are full during the first few weeks of school, there are open spaces usually available in the B2 and B3 parking Lots. Parking permits may be purchased at the Bookstore.
BUY BOOKS BEFORE CLASS STARTS
Avoid long lines at the Bookstore. Buy your books a week before the term begins. Remember to bring a copy of your class schedule. It will help us serve you more quickly in finding the right book for your classes.
Bookstore hours are:
Regular Store Hours:
Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Friday - 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Bookstore will be open
Saturday - August 18 & 25 from
10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Bookstore hours for week of August 20 through August 24:
Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 8:00 pm
Friday - 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
The Bookstore returns to regular business hours on Monday, August 27
PRINT CLASS SCHEDULE
Print out a schedule at home before coming to class. Having a printed schedule makes it easier to find your class and it helps you to remember what time the class begins. If you do not have access to a computer, you can print your class Schedule in the e-Services Lab located in Goleman 128 or the Cunningham Lab located in Cunningham 220.
VISIT THE DELTA COLLEGE CAMPUS
Visit the campus the week before the semester begins with your class schedule and locate each of your classrooms. This makes it a lot easier to find your way around on the first day when there is a lot of student traffic on campus.
STUDENT LOCKERS
Lockers are available at various locations on campus at no additional cost to students. To register your locker bring your own lock, place it on your locker of choice, and then register your locker with the Student Activities Office located in Shima 101C. Note the center name (Holt, Shima, etc.) and the locker number. Bring your locker number, your current class schedule, a contact telephone number and a picture ID to the Student Activities Office, Shima 101C.
Do not share your locker. Keep your lock on your locker at all times. If your lock is not on your locker another student can then claim the locker and register for it. Remember to take home anything of value or things you do not want to lose at the end of each day and especially weekends. The Student Activities department is not responsible for stolen property.
Please read any notices that might be placed on your locker by the Student Activities Office. Please do not disregard these notices.
BE PREPARED
We value you! And, we want you to be successful in meeting your academic and career goals. We will treat you with kindness and respect and ask that you also behave in a kind and respectful manner.
In joining the campus community, students will want to:
· Dress appropriately for college attendance
· Practice courteous behavior
· Use appropriate language
· Respect the rights of others
· Use cell phones only when appropriate (outside class)
NO SMOKING
Delta College is a non-smoking campus. Smoking is only allowed in the College parking lots.
NO CHILDREN/VISITORS
Children and visitors are not allowed in classrooms or many service offices. Child care services are available for registered students in the Child Development Center. For more information, please call (209) 954-5700.
NO GUM
We do not sell gum on campus and ask that you dispose of gum in garbage cans. Otherwise, our walkways get damaged by gum that adheres to the walking surfaces.
