Help! I can’t think of a password that meets the new guidelines.
There are many methods to use when creating a new password. Listed below are a few examples:
- Easily Remembered Phrase
A password can be created by using an easily remembered phrase such as a song title, affirmation or phrase. For example if we take the phrase “this may be one way to remember it”. The password from this phrase could be “TmB1w2r!”
-It uses the first letter of each word
-It replaces “One” with “1” and “To” with “2”
-It uses both upper and lower case letters
-Replaces “it” with “!”
This password uses all 4 of the characteristics required. Remember you only need to use 3 of the characteristics.
- Make a Compound Word
By combining two or three simple words together words together you can easily create a strong password. If we take the words “mydogspot” it can be changed to “Myd0g$pot”. Again this uses all 4 characteristics, you only need 3.
- Combining the letters of two words
Using two familiar words such as “code” and “toad” can be used to make the password “Ct00daed”. This is accomplished by choosing one letter of the first word and one letter of the second word, and repeating this until you get to the last letter of each word. This example uses only 3 of the required characteristics but you may choose to use all 4.
- Removing the vowels from a word or phrase
By removing the vowels from a phrase such as “my cat is very fat” a password of “Myct$vryft”. Again this only uses 3 of the 4 characteristics.
