ANCIENT TRAVEL BROCHURE

The purpose of this project is to have each student travel back in time to ancient Mesoamerica – visiting either the Mayans, Incans or Aztecs. This ancient travel brochure will help you to develop a more complete understanding of these ancient civilizations. You should be providing a guide to potential visitors of these ancient civilizations. You are looking to be as creative with your brochure as you can. Remember, you are trying to persuade someone to take a trip back in time to ancient Mesoamerica. You are free to choose either:

·  Aztecs

·  Incans

·  Mayans

The ancient travel brochure must include the following:

1.)  The brochure must be created on a tri-fold. It can be as large as you would like, but can be no smaller than a piece of printer paper. Example photos of similar projects are listed below to help you get an idea of what your project should look like.

  1. The front cover must have a title, picture, your name and class on it, as well as the dates of the civilization.

2.) Geography- including the major bodies of water, mountain ranges and, neighboring civilizations should be included. You can use a map or aerial photo to do this, with a brief description listed below.

3.)  The brochure must include the eight features of civilization

  1. Cities
  2. Organized Government
  3. Complex Religions
  4. Job Specialization
  5. Social Classes
  6. Arts and Architecture
  7. Public Works
  8. Writing

4.)  You must include at least six (6) vocabulary words. Make sure to underline each vocabulary word used.

5.)  Places to experience. Must have a minimum of two places to experience

with a picture and sentence to explain.

6.)  Include, what you believe, are the most important contributions/achievements or most important people of your ancient civilization. You must include at least three in your brochure.
