Teachers help prepare students for whatever they intend to do once they graduate, whether it is going to college or pursuing a career. In order to help students be prepared for the real world, effective teachers believe that all students can learn. By believing in their students, teachers consequently help their students to believe in themselves. In order to find the path best suited for their students, good teachers give their students a variety of challenging assignments that challenge them and expand their world. They always set high expectations on their students’ assignments so that they will gain confidence in their abilities and be able to handle any difficult situations that they may face after graduation. Effective teachers assess their students’ learning in ways that improve their thinking skills. They understand that the ability to think critically will be necessary for students to be successful and aim to create activities and assessments that promote this. In essence, effective teachers teach students well enough so that they can make good choices and pursue whatever dreams and ambitions they may have.

Good, effective, and dedicated teachers work especially hard to do their jobs well.
