CUSTOM and TOP CUSTOMIZERS 2017
The most enthusiastic people at MBE have always been from the Special world. In Verona, they can admire the latest range from Harley-Davidson, which will be officially presenting new models driven by the “Milwaukee Eight” engine. Also in Hall 2, there will also be historic customs from Indian Motorcycles as well as the more modern Victory Motorcycles.
Our halls contain many great surprises for the true fans of the Custom world. They will have the opportunity to meet world-class builders such as Cory and Zach from Arlen Ness, Danny Schneidr from HardNine Choppers, Fred Kodlin from Kodlin Murdercycles, Winston Yeh from Rough Crafts, and for the first time in Italy, Paul Teutul Sr and Mikey Teutul from Orange County Choppers.
WHAT’S AT MBE 2017
Other than its series of spectacles, Motor Bike Expo is characterized by the large space dedicated to the universe of personalization that, within this sector, makes it stand out on the world stage.
Four of the seven halls are dedicated to Custom and to Cafe Racer, two different styles that both embody the trend of using the motorcycle as an expression of style, just as a dress is tailored to the taste and needs of the wearer.
To underline the field of customization, contests are organized by industry-leading companies and specialized publications which are tasked with bringing these handmade creations to light while allowing the public to appreciate the works by world-class customizers up close.
There is also ample space for the Racing sector, including everything from the track to Off-Road. Award ceremonies and presentations of the sport championships, as well as chances to meet the riders and international figures in motorcycling, will take place as they have done every year. Conventions, institution and company conferences, training events, and panel discussions – these all prove the role of MBE as the center point joining the different sides of the motorcycle industry.
The world of Tourism is also an important focus which, thanks to the Touring Area, blends perfectly with the objectives of our host region, Veneto, which is always active in promoting the motorcycle tourism sector.
The themed workshops dedicated to high school students are also confirmed for this year. These present a chance for young people to interact with projects, professions, and job opportunities, narrowing the gap between training, education, and entry into the industry. There are three workshops arranged for Friday morning, January 20, where students will meet with special guests, business professionals, racing champions, and journalists. Speakers will discuss Custom with Harley-Davidson, the birth of the Ducati Scrambler brand, and riding safety with Suzuki.
There will be a gathering of world champion riders to welcome the public at the Misano World Circuit stand (Hall 6, stand 16L): Lorenzo Savadori (Team Milwaukee Aprilia Superbike), Marco Melandri (Ducati Superbike), Nicholas Bulega (Sky VR46 Official Racing Team Moto3) and Andrea Migno (Sky VR46 Official Racing Team Moto3). In addition, a new logo will be unveiled to celebrate 45 years of Romagna circuit history. There will be numerous offerings dedicated to track lovers ranging from discounted tickets for top events, to valuable promotions such as “One ticket, two worlds”.
OUTDOOR AREA: SHOWS, EXHIBITIONS, STUNTMEN, ADRENILINE, AND EXCITEMENT
After the success from previous editions, the Stunt Competition returns to MBE 2017.
For the third consecutive year, twenty professional stuntmen and two-wheel acrobats will battle it out with dangerous games of balance, stunning spins, and wheelies that dangle on the edge of impossibility.
These two days of competitions will take place inside the Motul Arena, where the best stuntmen in Europe will perform before an expert judge: Chris Pfeiffer, four-time world champion.
There will be an area dedicated to Urban Enduro, where one of the most anticipated and spectacular events will be staged; watch as some of the top international off-road riders bring life to this unique exhibition which will make for the perfect introduction to the Italian leg of the world championship to take place From May 25 to 28 in Spoleto.
Forty drifting specialists from all over Europe will compete on the dedicated track, with white smoke and the smell of burning tires filling in the air, to become the “King of Italy”.
Motor Bike Expo will also host the opening stage of the Mosquito’s Way Grand Tour 2017, featuring among others Piero Pelù, DJ Ringo, and Giovanni Di Pillo, all of which will bring a healthy dose of madness and plenty of rock.
