· Additional Maps specific to a contract or state requirement, such as :
o Flood Plain (FEMA) Map
o Land Use Map
o Ground water contour map
II. Mapping staff or contractor is providing map preparation assistance:
In order to increase time efficiency and productivity for the creation of maps between planners and Praedium or mapping staff or contractor, there are items that need to be identified while planners are out in the field and before draft materials for maps are submitted to Praedium or mapping contractor. The identification of these items will eliminate, or at least reduce, the amount of time needed to develop maps and the need for continual modification of the initial Praedium prepared map
· Items to be identified and/or noted on maps submitted to mapping staff or contractor:
o Identification of any/all items that need setbacks per the State 590 Standard (i. e. wells, ditches, streams—including those not on USGS Maps, wetlands, residences, property lines, grassed waterways, etc.)
o Identification of how the fields are to be split—planner will draw the new field boundaries on initial paper map (i. e. if an area of a field will not be used for application of nutrients, it should be drawn on the maps and marked, or if a field is to be split into subfields, the subfields must be labeled and identified).
o Identification of tract/property boundaries
o Identification of center pivot fields where applicable and length of center pivot along with the “pivot gun range”. Pivot “stops” should be identified as well.
o Location of all field site specific conservation practices that are in place and need to be maintained, as well as those yet to be implemented (i.e. grassed waterway, terrace, filter strips, etc.)
o Location of production site specific conservation practices that are current and need to be maintained and all new ones to be installed (i.e. roof runoff structures in place and/or panned, waste storage facilities, vegetative treatment areas, fences, heavy use area, etc.)
· Mapping Process:
o Planner to complete map checklist and place on CWA for mapping staff or contractor: Planning_Chklst_Praedium_Map
Planner will let Praedium know when sketch maps are on CWA. Praedium will let mapping staff or contractor know when Plan maps are ready to develop. Maps will be submitted via hard copy, placed on CWA or occasionally emailed to mapping staff or contractor. Once maps have been submitted, an expected completion date will be identified and communicated to the planner. When the maps have been completed, they will be uploaded onto CWA by mapping staff or contractor, who will notify the planner. If corrections to the maps are needed, the planner is to note (marking on the map is best) what modifications are needed. Once changes are identified and communicated, corrections will be made and the final maps will then be up-loaded onto CWA by mapping staff or contractor. Mapping staff or contractor will let Praedium and planner know when final maps are finished.
