PRINCIPAL MEDICAL PHYSICIST (Radiotherapy)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced physicist to join our radiotherapy physics team. Radiotherapy is provided in two sister departments in The Mater Private Hospital in Dublin, and the Midwestern Radiation Oncology Centre in Limerick. Across the two sites, the department has 4 Varian linear accelerators, including 1 TrueBeam, an Elekta flexitron HDR and provides an extensive LDR brachytherapy service.

The successful candidate will be appointed as lead physicist for the Dublin site. They will be responsible for the day to day service, including treatment planning, and will be expected to take a lead role in the further introduction of advanced treatment techniques. They will also be responsible for the management and development of the local physics team.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate evidence of significant experience in radiotherapy and have the necessary team working and management skills to lead the team at this exciting time in the department’s development.

This is a full time, pensionable, permanent position and the hours of this post are between the hours of 7:30 am to 8:00 pm.
