These are just two of the many thank you notes received from last year’s book drive. With the communities help, the Read to Me Book Drive collected over 42,000 books. The books were distributed through 90 schools and community groups impacting many thousand children and their families. You are making a difference with your contribution.
In collaboration with Reading Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Business Education Compact’s Read to Me program, we cordially invite you to join with the Department of Family and Community Services again this year. This year, the Read to Me Book Drive will begin February 15th and run through March 31st, 2014.
The goal this year is to collect 45,000 new and gently used children’s books. Read to Me Book Drive collection sites will be located throughout the greater Albuquerque area at the following locations: Barnes and Nobel, John Brooks Supermart, Applebee’s, La Montanita Natural Foods Coop, Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Library System and Village Inn. Nearly 50 local employers will also conduct Read to Me book drives among their employees and patrons.
Please help put a smile on the faces of many children by participating and donating new or gently used children's books to this year's Read to Me Book Drive.
