The Lieutenant-Governor, having assumed the administration of the government of the State, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Firearms Regulations 1997—
(a)to prescribe the form of a report under section 123C of the Firearms Act 1996; and
(b)to revoke the regulations relating to handgun target shooting matches; and
(c)to amend the condition attaching to categoryE longarm licences for the purposes of historical re-enactments and public ceremonial events.
2.Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 191 of the Firearms Act 1996.
3.Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1January 2006.
4.Approved handgun target shooting clubs—reporting requirements
After regulation 23 of the Firearms Regulations 1997[1]insert—
"23A. Approved handgun target shooting clubs—reporting requirements
The form of a report under section 123C of the Act is the form in Schedule 7.".
5.Revocation of regulations relating to handgun target shooting matches
Regulations 19A, 19B and 19C of the Firearms Regulations 1997 are revoked.
6.Issue of category E longarm licences for the purposes of historical re-enactments and public ceremonial events
In regulation 20(3)(a) of the Firearms Regulations 1997, for "rendered permanently inoperable"substitute"modified to be incapable of firing cartridge ammunition".
7.Schedule 7 substituted
For Schedule 7 to the Firearms Regulations 1997 substitute—
