Job Title:Theatre Technical Manager, Hafren
Responsible to:Theatre Manager
Job Purpose: To manage on a day-to-day basis the Theatre’s technical resources and to provide safe and economical levels of support to all users of the facility to a consistently high standard.
Principal Responsibilities
- To manage effectively and efficiently the delivery of technical resources, facilities and cleaning services in the theatre;
- To ensure that the technical operation of the theatre is always safe and complies with current legislation and industry standards;
- To provide technical support and guidance, including Stage Management, LX and Sound as required in an economical way that maximises the use of technical expertise within agreed hours of work;
- To manage technical and cleaning staff in line with the College’s current HR policies and procedures;
- To liaise with the Duty Manager on operational matters;
- To supervise and encourage work experience students, volunteers andapprentices in the technical department;
- To lead or assist as required with pre-rigging, get-ins and get-outs;
- To ensure that the theatres equipment is properly maintained in good working order, that equipment is regularly tested and that replacement equipment and stock is ordered as needed (within agreed budgets);
- To undertake duties associated with the security of the physical facility, resources and equipment;
- To manage the technical departments budget, as delegated by the Theatre Manager, and in line with College financial regulations;
- To maintain and develop Health & Safety, Risk Assessment documentation and Fire Logs;
- To maintain and update the technical area on the Hafren website and maintain basic IT systems within the theatre in conjunction with NPTC Group IT.
- To maintain an inventory of equipment, fixtures and fittings, on behalf of the owners of such, Powys County Council.

- To take an active part in College quality systems where appropriate to Theatre operation.
- To contribute towards the development of the theatres activities in accordance with the current theatres Business Plan.
- To adhere to all College & Theatre policies and procedures.
- To undertake professional development as required.
- To undertake other appropriate duties as required by the Theatre Manager.
