Signals to control junctions shall not be used until written authorisation from the Highway Authority has been given to the Works Promoter and Applicant, except during an emergency situation, where a retrospective application can be made. Advance “Temporary Signal” warning signs to be erected on Traffic Sensitive roads two weeks before works commence. A completed TMP002 form to accompany all applications, i.e. those areas indicated in blue. I agree to the payment of £160 (VAT Exempt) for the authorisation of junction controlled signals to include timing calculation checks and any required site visits. NB Fees and charges are reviewed annually.

REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Any person completing this application form should be aware of the following:
The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.
Department for Transport Departmental Standard TD 21/85.
Traffic Signs Manual, Chapter 8
The contents of these publications are such that, any temporary signal used on the highway, must be of an approved design and marked with the appropriate crown label.
The signals must be in full working order and must be used in the VEHICLE ACTUATION mode at all times, unless written approval is obtained from the Highway Authority. Any requests for fixed time or manual operations of the signals should be made separately, but may be attached to this application form.
