This section includes glass mosaic tile for floor and decorative glazing. Commonly used thin-set methods are included in this section. This section is oriented to interior applications. Refer to TCA (Tile Council of America) handbook for assistance in selecting adhesives, grouts, and installation details. A schedule at end of this section will assist in preparing a schedule of materials and installation methods. This section includes proprietary and descriptive type specifications. 2.6GROUT MIX
If epoxy or organic adhesives are used, edit this article and the article title to suit grout type required. A slurry coat is often used to prepare concrete substrate surfaces.

PART 3Execution
3.1EXAMINATION
A.Section 01700: Verify substrate.
B.Verify that surfaces are ready to receive work.
3.2PREPARATION
A.Protect surrounding work from damage or disfiguration.
B.Vacuum clean surfaces [and damp clean].
C.Seal substrate surface cracks with filler.
D.Level existing substrate surfaces to acceptable flatness tolerances.
E.Apply [sealer] [conditioner] to substrate surfaces in accordance with adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
3.3INSTALLATION - THINSET METHOD
A.Install adhesive, tile, [thresholds,] and grout to TCA Handbook..
B.Lay tile to pattern according to design indicated.
C.Set tile in place and tap with grouting float/rubber hammer to ensure full bed contact.
D.Place [thresholds] [edge strips] at locations required.
When specifying dissimilar tile sizes, indicate how joint patterns and sizes are to align or form a pattern.
E.Cut and fit tile tight to penetrations through tile. Form corners [and bases] neatly. Align floor, base joints with minimum 1/2 tile at perimeter.
F.Place tile joints uniform in width, subject to variance in design and tile size/shape. Make joints watertight, without voids, cracks, excess mortar, or excess grout.
G.Keep [expansion] [control] joints free of adhesive or grout. Apply sealant to joints.
H.Allow tile to set for a minimum of [48] [____] hours prior to grouting.
