A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE MRS. VERONICA D. CLINKSCALES OF MARLBORO COUNTY FOR HER MANY YEARS OF UNSELFISH PUBLIC SERVICE, HER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE 4-H YOUTH AND HOME ECONOMICS PROGRAMS, AND TO WISH HER HAPPINESS AND GOOD FORTUNE IN HER RETIREMENT.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned with regret of the retirement of Mrs. Veronica D. Clinkscales; and

Whereas, Mrs. Clinkscales worked with distinction in Williamsburg County from 1974 to 1996 with the Clemson University Extension Service; and

Whereas, since October, 1996, Mrs. Clinkscales has been a Home Economist Extension agent in Marlboro, Dillon, and Chesterfield Counties; and

Whereas, she has devoted all her adult life promoting, educating, and fostering youth development and home economics programs in Marlboro, Dillon, Chesterfield, and Williamsburg Counties and in the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Mrs. Clinkscales also has participated greatly in the public life of her community and has contributed tremendously to the life and well being of her fellow citizens; and

Whereas, she has been in the vanguard to improve the quality of life for the citizens of South Carolina. She has won the respect and admiration of her peers in her work and in the professional associations with which she is associated; and

Whereas, Marlboro County and the State of South Carolina are indebted to Mrs. Clinkscales for her many contributions to the youth, families, and other citizens privileged to know this lovely lady. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, hereby recognize Mrs. Veronica D. Clinkscales of Marlboro County for her many years of unselfish public service, her contributions to the 4-H Youth and Home Economics programs, and wish her happiness and good fortune in her retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Clinkscales.
