Role: Lecturer Professional Technologies
Salary:c£23.3k - £35.3k per annum, pro rata where applicable. Points 23 – 37 on harmonised pay scale
Accountable to: Faculty Area Manager – Built Environment
Portfolio of responsibilities:
- Work with the Faculty Area Manager and Subject Leaders and other cross academy colleagues to deliver excellent teaching whilst developing outstanding resources and course materials within the Construction curriculum.
- Motivate and inspire individual students to exceed their expectations and goals. Ensure learners produce the highest level of work and are empowered to take ownership of their studies to achieve excellent results.
- Work with the Built Environment and Construction teams in leading on a particular area to develop a dynamic and responsive curriculum offer which is innovative and responsive to the needs of learners and employers.
- Ensure our learners are fully prepared for employment through programmes of outstanding and innovative teaching and learning, guest speakers, live client brief and work experience opportunities.
- Ensure our learners are equipped with all employability skills to gain meaningful employment in their chosen specialist field or progress on to higher levels of education within their specialism.
- Ensure learners are equipped with the skills and abilities necessary for them to progress to further study or work.
- Ensure all opportunities for employer involvement and support is maximised for the benefit of our students.
- Collaborate with colleagues in developing, implementing and evaluating innovative strategies to enhance the student experience at Nottingham College.
Corporate responsibilities:

- Ensure the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision and values of the college

1 / Hold a Teaching Qualification e.g. PGCE or Certificate in Education / E / X
2 / Be educated to HNC/D or degree level in a relevant subject / E / X
