JOB TITLE:Professional Education Coordinator
REPORTS TO:Director of Civic Education & Engagement
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Professional Education Coordinator reports to the Director of Civic Education & Engagement and is responsible for coordinating and planning training opportunities for the organization in collaboration with the Civic Education & Engagement Team. The Professional Education Coordinator serves as the lead staff for any statewide training effort including but not limited to any statewide summit or conference.
Specific Responsibilities: Training Coordination and Development
Coordinate planning, implementation, and evaluation of PCANC’s professional education program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate, maintain,and serve as the liaison for the online, self-guided Recognizing and Reporting training and other web-based trainings as they evolve.
- In collaboration with the Civic Education & Engagement Team, coordinate professional education opportunities on critical issues to child abuse and neglect prevention.
- Provide support to the Parent & Community Engagement Manager in development and coordination of networking and training opportunities for Prevention Network members.
- Oversee the coordination of targeted webinars and web-based trainings.
- Coordinate statewide trainingsto include but not be limited to any statewide summit/conference.
- Work across teams todetermine marketing and financing strategies that will increase training attendance and revenue.
- Develop and maintain training standard operating procedures identifying steps needed to host a successful training and webinar.
- Design and implement efforts to publicize events and promote sponsorships.
- Meet with sponsors and organizing committees in order to plan scope and format of events, to establish and monitor budgets, and to review administrative procedures and event progress.
- Coordinate and negotiate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, exhibitors, special needs requirements, printing, and event security.
- Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to PCANC requirements.
- Organize registration of event participants.
- Plan and develop programs, agendas, and services according to specific trainings and requirements.
- Recruit exhibitors.
- Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs.
- Maintain event records, including financial details, and provide documentation to business office.
- Conduct post-event evaluations in order to determine how future events could be improved.
- Coordinate administrative details such as financial operations, dissemination of promotional materials, and responses to inquiries.
- Read trade publications, attend seminars, and consult with other meeting professionals in order to keep abreast of meeting management standards and trends.
- All other duties as assigned or requested.
PCANC Responsibilities: PCANC General
- Participate in PCANC Staff meetings.
- Participate in Supervision provided by the Director of Civic Education & Engagement a minimum of once per month.
- Maintain work plan and ensure timely reporting of assigned grant deliverables.
- Maintain a positive work environment.
- Increase operational efficiency by helping to improve workflow processes where needed
- All other duties as assigned or requested.
Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred
•3+years’ experience in training coordination, meeting and event planning, or marketing required
•Excellent writing, interpersonal, and oral communications skills
•Creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
•Strong problem solving and organizational skills
•Equally effective working independently or as a member of a team
•Ability to prioritize work in order to successfully complete multiple tasks within expected time frames
•Self-starter willing to take initiative and ownership of projects and deliverables
•Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; and webinar and online training platforms; and social media outlets
•Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends required
•Ability to travel within North Carolina, with occasional overnight stays required

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
SALARY RANGE:$17.50 - $27.40 per hour
