Join the Snohomish County Master Gardener Foundation!
The Master Gardener Program is a partnership between WSU and Snohomish County, both of which provide funding and support. But our robust program needs more than basic support and this is where the SCMGF comes in. The Foundation is organized to enhance and supplement the Master Gardener Program. As a 501(c)(3) entity, the Foundation can receive and dispense tax deductible charitable contributions.
Here are some ways in which the Foundation helps Master Gardeners and our communities through the year:
- The SCMGF raises funds through the annual Plant Sale, the Sustainable Gardening series, garden tours, and merchandise sales.
- The SCMGF helps fund training classes and continuing education for Master Gardeners.
- The SCMGF provides leadership for MG projects, including the Rain Garden, My Garden Nursery greenhouse, and MG demonstration gardens.
- The SCMGF supplies funding for community garden start-ups and scholarships for students beginning their college study in horticulture.
- The SCMGF provides funds for materials and equipment for Jennings, McCollum, and Legion gardens; materials used in school programs, and additions to office and library collections.
- The SCMGF puts on the annual Master Gardener Recognition Dinner and provides awards.
- The SCMGF serves as a liaison between Master Gardeners, WSU staff and the community.
- The SCMGF provides information to MG’s and others through Foundation meetings, the Sustainable Gardening series of lectures, email communications, and through outreach to the community.
- The SCMGF speaks for the Master Gardener Program in our community and beyond.
- The SCMGF provides a forum for formulating, designing, and discussing new and continuing MG projects.
- The SCMGF provides opportunities for Master Gardeners to get together and have fun!
