Track Record (Relevant Past Work)
- What DACA-related work has your organization done so far? (If none, your organization is not eligible for this round of funding). Please describe:
- activities and how they are conducted,
- characteristics of those you have served,
- specific number served by each type of activity, and
- other organizations you’ve worked or collaborated with on DACA.
- If you are requesting funding for legal assistance, is your organization BIA-recognized[1], and do you have BIA accredited reps on staff?
- If relevant, please note any work that your organization has done to prepare for implementation of expanded DACA and DAPA (e.g., community education, document preparation, screening for other forms of relief, etc.).
- What qualifies your organization to do the work for which you’re requesting funding? Include information about:
- Organizational track record/credentials (including BIA recognition, if applicable, and/or other immigration legal services, previous community education campaigns, or previous legal technical assistance/training experience)
- Staff/board leadership and volunteer credentials/training (including BIA accreditation)
- Linguistic accessibility and cultural competence
- Experience with immigrant youth, young adults, and family members.
Proposed Activities
- Please describe the specific activities you are proposing for funding. This may include the following (more detail is provided in the RFP):
- Organized community education campaigns
- Legal assistance
- Capacity-building and technical assistance and training
- DREAMer leadership development
Please provide enough detail to clearly convey your plan, how it will be executed, and what results you expect. Please provide an estimate on how many people you expect to serve for each proposed activity.
- What specific geographical area/s (neighborhood/s, city, county) and population/s would you serve, if funded? If known, what are the estimated numbers of DACA/DAPA eligible recipients in your service area?
- How would you ensure that your work is effective and high quality? What evaluation tool/methods would you use to assess your impact?
- What other organizations will you work with to accomplish your goals? This could include organizations that you partner with to conduct outreach and education events, to which you refer some cases, with which you consult, that you rely on for training, etc.
- If you are applying as a collaboration or partnership, rather than as a single organization, what value would be added by the collaborative approach?
- How will you be integrating the people you serve through this initiative into your ongoing programs, services, and overall organization (for example, engaging them as new members or constituents or including them in other programs or services that you offer)? Do you have a membership structure or a way of tracking DACA applicants who receive services from you? If so, please describe your tracking system.
- Since this is currently a one-time grant, how do you plan to sustain this initiative after the first year?
- What immigrant coalitions (committees, groups, etc.) are you part of and how often do you engage with the group?
Part III - Attachments. Pease also attach the following with your completed application:
- A budget and budget narrative for the grant you are requesting. Grants must be used between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016.
- If your organization receives or raises other funds (including service fees) for any DACA- or DAPA-relatedactivities, please include a list of other sources with amounts of funding secured or planned in the current fiscal year, and briefly describe how funds will be used. If applicable, what is your service fee for new and renewal DACA applications?
- The organizational budget of the applicant organization or fiscal sponsor for the current fiscal year.
- Current balance sheet and profit and loss statement for the applicant organization or fiscal sponsor.
