Course Rationale:
The Digital Media Arts curriculum will teach students the basics of visual communication and storytelling skills while using the principles of design through photography, digital image editing, video production, animation, and graphic design. Students will learn how to plan and invent creative concepts, solve design challenges, develop personal artistic expression, and communicate ideas through media technology.
The units meet the New 2018 NYS State Media Arts standards, which recognizes the artistic processes of Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting, as essential for arts learning. The artistic process is not linear, and therefore the student learning objectives will be reached throughout the year in a cyclical fashion. Students will be encouraged to participate in the annual Hen Hud Film Fest and to design promotional materials for this as well as other school events.
