Events Assistant

Job Summary: The Events Assistant (EA) will assist in planning of SFNE’s fundraising activities and events as well as perform administrative duties. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the EA will coordinate the planning and execution of events throughout the fundraising season. Data entry and list management will be essential. Website input and public outreach will be undertaken under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate 10 – 14 annual events including related mailings and event logistics.
· Manage volunteer leaders to develop local sponsors for events. Provide support for online registration and donations.
· Manage walk participant and donor data. Merge and maintain lists as necessary.
· Assist with internal SFNE events, meetings and constituent support.
· Work with Operations Manager to complete all event mailings and daily thank-you correspondence.
· Aid in processing donations and entering data into Luminate CRM.
· Assist with setup, registration, breakdown and other duties at six walks and one golf tournament, a biennial Patient Education Seminar, and other events as necessary.
· Answer phones, process mail, other administrative duties as needed.
· Assist Operations Manager and Executive Director with other projects as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Events experience, non-profit preferred
· Degree in Marketing, Management, Fundraising, or related field plus 2-4 years related experience
· Working knowledge of web-based fundraising and communications methods, ability to interact with multiple databases. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Proficiency in social media messaging a plus.
· Ability to work with a variety of workers, volunteers, and community members.
· Ability to work with limited supervision
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Initiative and attention to detail is essential along with steady focus and creative planning.
· Valid driver’s license. Requires personal vehicle use – SFNE to reimburse for mileage.
· Mature, organized individual who is able to work in a fast-paced environment with creativity, humor and team skills.
Work hours are generally 8:30-4:30, negotiable. Weekend and after hours availability for scheduled events is required. Must be able to lift 30 to 40 pounds, transport event materials, and setup structures.
