PRACTICE OF THE WEEK

Consciously express appreciation for others in your life. Use the words "I really appreciate the way you….

MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS NEEDED!...FUMC is scheduled to deliver Senior Nutrition/Meals on Wheels October 26h – November 20th. Each day has four routes and meals are to be picked up at or before 10:50 a.m. from the Senior Center. Each route takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. It works very well if two people take each route so that one can deliver while the other one drives. Signup sheets for volunteers to deliver the meals are located on the table in the main entryway of the church. Thank you for your participation in this valuable program. This important service could not continue without volunteers such as yourself!

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY ITEMS…Boy Scout Troop 377 is selling Various Christmas Holiday Items including Fresh –Cut Wreaths, Garland and Swag for the Christmas Holiday until October 23rd. If interested, please stop in the Narthex and visit Max Purvis or Ben VandeKamp after Sunday Services, October 11 or 18 or contact Troy at 641-891-3063 and a Scout can come to your home.

CUB SCOUTS POPCORN…The cub scouts will be selling popcorn in the Narthex after church one more Sunday. Don’t forget to stop by and place your order!

FALL HARVEST DINNER…Everyone is invited to our annual Fall Harvest Dinner Saturday, Oct. 24, from 5-7 pm in WFH & EFH. The meal will consist of ham balls, cheesy potatoes, green beans, with great salads, and delicious pies from our congregation. Carry outs will be available. A free will offering will be accepted to support Montgomery Street Preschool.

CUB SCOUTS COLLECTING MEDICINE BOTTLES FOR MALAWI…The Cub Scouts are collecting your empty medicine bottles for Malawi. While we in first world countries usually throw away perfectly good medicine bottles, medical pharmacies and hospital in Malawi often find themselves with nothing except torn pieces of paper to wrap their patients’ medication in. The humidity can then get to the medicine and ruin it in that paper and/or children can accidently get ahold of the medicine. This is often seen in the poorest areas of the nation trying to survive. YOU CAN HELP CHANGE THIS. The bottle helps with the safety and to preserve the life of the medication. To do your part, simply save your medication containers when you have completed your prescription, remove the label, and place them in the box in the Narthex at the church labeled Cub Scout Medicine Bottles for Malawi. Thank you!
