Parking at Hope

2014 / 2015 school year

Please read through this information concerning parking privileges at Hope.

Parking Relationship:

The parking situation hopefully helps out both students and the church. We don’t run this as a business but as a relationship. We ask that parkers cooperate in Hope’s mission through financial donations or volunteering efforts.

We’ll treat you and your car with respect and ask that you do the same for the people that make up the Hope church family.

BEFORE you fill out the Application, consider this requirement:

1.  One key requirement to parking here: If you are not attending worship on Sunday mornings then we ask that you free up the church lot for worship parkers.

Our worship service is 10:00am Sunday

(Parking is allowed on campus on the weekends. Most students move their cars to a dorm lot Fri or Sat and come back Sun night)

2.  In the spring, there are a 3 special weekday evening services that the lot will need to be available for a couple hours. Ash Wed, Holy Thurs, and Good Friday

Take note of these points:

Winter parking: Our volunteers come from their homes to do their best to clean up after storms, but realize there might not be immediate access to your car after a big storm. There are shovels by the front door of the church that you can use to clear the sides of your car and put the snow appropriately off the lot.

Safe driving: No inappropriate driving or disrespectful behavior will be tolerated. You will be asked to not park here anymore.

Parking Pass info: Parkers will be issued a “pass” and a “spot”. You can pick up the pass when you first come to park. Your car/license plate will also be in the log. Either way, please introduce yourself, as we like to meet and get to know each parker. Keep your “Pass” visible. Your “Pass” is not transferable for other cars to use. (unless noted)

How to Apply: Please complete the Parking Request Form, sign both accountability spots, and…

(1) mail it or (2) come by during church office hours.

*I understand that I will be parking here at my sole risk and that Hope Lutheran Church is not responsible for damages, problems, or theft involving my car. I assume all risk for my personal health while walking or driving on Hope Lutheran Church property.

A commitment of approximately 15 hours for the semester seems to work. Some students commit to be on the church cleaning schedule every other week, some do child care at worship, some play instruments with the band for Worship, (guitar/keyboard…praise style music… not singers. )
*Need to contact and see if there is a role you can help out with.

If you are able, please include your donation with the application. This helps us with coordinating/

reserving the spots. We’ll contact you to confirm we received it.
