Grant Overview

The Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) of Dunn County has been established to strengthen the spirit of women through collaborative philanthropy. The WGC grants fundingthrough the Community Foundation of Dunn County to non-profit organizationsthat support the needs of women and families through one competitive grant cycle in June each year. Typical award amounts range from $500 to $2,500.

The grant deadline is Monday, June13, 2016. Applications must be in the Community Foundation office by 5pm or postmarked on this date. If you encounter problems or have questions, please contact the Community Foundation at 715-232-8019 or email .

Grant Workshop: For complete details, you are encouraged to attend the WGC Grant Workshopbeing offered on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 from 5:30pm-7pm at the Menomonie Public Library. Visit register.

Applicants are asked to complete the following application, gather the supporting documents, and submit in both electronic and printed formby the deadline for consideration.

Please do not include report jackets, binders, dividers, or paper clips.

In addition to the application, you are asked to submit the following supporting documents:

  1. IRS determination letter of tax exempt status as defined under 501(c)(3) of Internal Revenue

Code. Governmental agencies including school districts must includea cover letter from chief executive officer.

2. List of current Board of Directors.

3. Most recent audited financial statement and proof of current IRS 990 filing.

4. Current year operating budget, including revenue and expenses.

5. Letters of Support are also required if another organization or individual is integral to thepurchase or use of the program and/or is a fiscal sponsor.

Applicants will be notified within 6 weeks of the deadline, and approved grant projects must be completed within a 12-month time frame. A final grant report is required upon completion of the grant and is available at

Please include a typewritten grant narrative for the proposed project. Limit 5 to pages. The grant narrative should include:

  1. A description of your organization and its role in the community.
  2. A description of your grant program or project, including the identified need, timeline, and geographic area being served.
  3. The goals and objectives of the proposal and how they will be achieved.
  4. A description of your evaluation method to measure and demonstrate the impact and results of the project.

Grant Budget

Please include a detailed budget listing all anticipated income for this grant project, including pending, approved and/or denied income, as well as a listing of all anticipated expenses for this grant project, and which expenses are to be covered specifically by this grant.

Signature of the applicant organization certifies that if awarded a grant,

the organization will:

  • Carry out the activities and expend grant funds as described in the proposal, to the best of their ability.
  • Submit significant changes in the scope or budget of the project to the Foundation for approval.
  • Complete and submit written reports as required no later than 12 months from the date the grant is awarded.
  • Acknowledge the role of the Community Foundation of Dunn County in supporting the organization in communications with their board and the public.
  • Provide copies of all publicity, press releases or promotional materials. If available, provide photos in digital format.
