October 5, 2011
From the desk of: Margaret Sabin, President and CEO
Thanks to you, we made it!
The success of every organization depends on hiring, developing and rewarding the people who live out its vision and values. Centura Health is committed to making that happen for associates. To honor that commitment, we continue to build and refine the talent management process so we may identify and develop associates for the future of this ministry. It’s also a key initiative within the 2020 Strategy that serves to “Strengthen the Foundation.”
Through our annual Press-Ganey survey, associates system-wide continue to tell us how much they value recognition for outstanding associate performance. To meet this request, the C.A.R.E program in 2010 (C.A.R.E. = Centura Associate Reward for Excellence) was established. In this second year of C.A.R.E, Centura Health has pledged $1.2 million dollars to reward associates at entities that reached their patient/resident satisfaction and financial goals. It is because of your outstanding work that these goals were achieved.
It is with great pleasure and deepest appreciation to announce we have attained our entity goals for Penrose-St. Francis. Therefore, qualifying associates will be receiving a C.A.R.E rewards payout in the October 21, 2011 paycheck of up to $220 (look for the “Misc. Bonus” line on your check stub).
In addition to meeting our financial goals, the Patient Satisfaction Target Goal had to be met in order for any payouts to occur, based on HCAHPS scores.
What are HCAHPS? HCAHPS (pronounced “H-caps”), is a survey designed to assess our patients’ perceptions of quality during their hospital experience.
Here’s how we did:
FY ’10 baseline: PSF baseline:54th percentile
The FY ’11 target was to achieve the 58th percentile
Maximum performance payout target: 60th percentile
Actual outcome: PSF achieved the 64th Percentile
How much will I get?
Paid Hours in FY 2011 / MAX Performance Payout Amount> 1800 hrs / $220
1200-1799 hrs / $165
800-1199 hrs / $110
< 800 hrs / N/E
Please accept our gratitude for your hard work and dedication! If you have additional questions, you may contact your manger or our HR department at 776-5996.
We extend the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities.
