POSITION OVERVIEW

The Injury Management Assistant position is responsible for effectively and efficiently supporting the administrative requirementsof injury management, workers’ compensation and return to work processes. This position is also required to manage less complex injury and wellness cases from time to time.

DIVISIONAL STRUCTURE

The Injury Management Assistant position reports to one of the two Injury Management Advisers (either of which positions may be determined from time to time). While reporting for administrative matters to one specified position( ie leave, working arrangements and hours verification), the position exists to support both Injury Management Advisers equally, to facilitate the smooth performance of their responsibilities by good supporting administrative processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Injury Management Assistant position will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain registered injury management and Workers’ Compensation files
  • Distribute injury management documentation to relevant parties (payroll, insurers, health professionals and health service providers)
  • Collate and file all documentation regarding workers’ compensation and injury management/wellness management advice and plans
  • Update case notes and records on rehab tracker
  • Contribute to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of current administrative processes
  • Case manage less complex workers’ compensation and wellness management cases as prioritised by the supervising Injury Management Adviser
  • Support case review meetings by ensuring records of decisions and determinations are compiled and distributed as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in business administration or related fields (desirable)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn and master new programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level support in a fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully organising work and developing and maintaining good administrative systems
