Introduction:

This Award is presented annually to a distinguished civil engineer for demonstrated leadership potential, and for significant contributions to civil engineering.

Criteria:

  • Nominees must be anAffiliate Member, Associate Member, or Member of ASCE, an engineer of recognized leadership potential, employed full-time for a minimum of five (5) years as of February 1, 2015. E.I., E.I.T., or P.E. certification is required of all candidates.
  • Qualifications of the award nominees will be judged on the following:
  • Excellent performance that has demonstrated leadership in their field
  • Evidence of high character and professional integrity
  • Civic and humanitarian activities (community service)
  • Outstanding contributions to ASCE
  • Scoring will be based on the following categories:
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer5 points
  • Education5 points
  • Continuing professional development during last three years10 points
  • ASCE Professional/technical activities25 points
  • Non-ASCE professional/technical society activities10 points
  • Awards/honors10 points
  • Civic and humanitarian activities15 points

Instructions:

  • The completedapplication package includes electronic copies of the following:
  • a cover letter signed by the nominator,
  • an application checklist (page 2),
  • an official award nomination form (page 3),
  • a completed application form,
  • Prepare an electronic.zip folder with the application materials. It is preferred, but not required, that all components of the application be compiled into one PDF.
